Which is the costliest thing in the world?

     Hii all!!! welcome back to Big Tech Bang. Today we are gonna see the costliest thing in the world. When you hear this question the first thing comes to your mind will be diamond. But I  disagree with your answer. In this digital world the costliest thing is data. You may ask what you can do with data. Let's see that in this post.

     Almost every one in this world is using internet in their day to day life. It has become a part of us. In this lockdown we are using smartphone tirelessly. Most of the times scrolling the news feeds in social media. Have you ever thought where these data goes?

     In your home you may be using voice recognition devices like alexa, google home etc. Do you know that your conversation over these devices are being listened by an individual? Yes, some companies hire people to listen over these conversations to track the customer behaviour. Then they sell these data to the advertising companies.

     You will be talking to your friend about your next travel to Paris. After some time you can see hotel and flight ads over your Facebook. You may also find those kind of ads in google ads.

     Once an incident happened. A girl was doing work out with her sports wear. After sometime she started using her smart phone. She was surprised by seeing an ad which shows the same sports wear she used in the work out. That's so creepy. Even your camera is also been used to collect data. 

     Once Mark Zuckerberg posted a photo of his own. He had his MacBook behind him. The webcam of that MacBook was enclosed with black tape. Why he need to do that? It will ruin the design and the look of MacBook. He knows that even webcam is also vulnerable to one's privacy.

     If you think Facebook is taking away your privacy data and you delete your account in Facebook and uninstalled it. Do you think that there after Facebook won't be able to collect your data? No, You may visit certain websites which may have Facebook like button embedded on it. Guess what, Facebook is now watching you through that website.

    American President election was controlled by Cambridge Analytica company. It took personal data from the user through Facebook. Then it studies the behaviour of those people. It separated the profiles of those people who supported Clinton. Then it target some ads which are against Clinton. The thing which we need to notice is that those ads are fake news. Trump administration has developed Millions of ads which portrayed Clinton as evil. Then they run these ads on the news feed of people who supported Clinton through Facebook. This has manipulated those people and made them to support Trump. Facebook has sold the data of those users for Millions of dollars.

    In this digital world you may not be able to control your data flow. There are lots of companies which invest Millions of Dollars just to get user data. Whenever you are online remember your data is not secure. This doesn't mean that you are safe offline. Let's do an experiment. Remove the sim card in your phone and roam some places and return back. Now insert the sim and turn on internet, Google maps will show which are the places you have visited and roamed. 

    Finally your data are getting sold for Millions of dollars. So the costliest thing in this world is DATA.
