How Solar panels work? Big Tech Bang Explains

Hello all!!! Some years before we were studying about the climate change. But now it is really happening. The world is getting hotter day by day. Now the world is looking for eco friendly power generation. One of the most efficient renewable energy source is sunlight. Most of the house owners have started implementing solar energy harvesting. Have you ever wondered how the solar panel works? Let's have a look.

Solar panel has many smaller units called photovoltaic cells. These cells are connected each other to conduct electricity. So that the electricity can be drawn out.

Photovoltaic means converting solar light to electricity. Solar panel has Silicon in it. The Silicon is dopped with Phosphorus which makes the upper layer negative. The bottom region os Silicon is dopped with Boron which makes it positive.

When sunlight falls on the photovoltaic cell, the electrons get knocked out. This electron passes through the Silicon and flows through the circuit. This produces electricity, since the flow of electron is electricity.

The photovoltaic cells are connected in series and parallel to attain the required voltage.

The current obtained will be DC. So it can be directly used for storage. But for usage it needs to be converted to AC, since most of the utilities are powered by AC supply.

The solar panel needs to be kept in tilted position to get the atmost power.
