In 2017 YouTube for Desktop has got dark theme. Then more requests came from users that the dark theme feature mobile is needed as well. Today, YouTube for iOS has got the dark theme. But not for Android now.
Since it is a soft roll out, there is no app update for the dark theme. You can enable the dark theme from a toggle directly from app settings. Once enabled, the complete interface change into dark theme. This gives a refreshment from the routine white design. However, it is available only for main app, and not for YouTube studio app.
YouTube app will show a pop-up about the dark theme at the bottom of the main home screen, if you are running the latest version of Youtube. For Android, YouTube has mentioned that this feature will roll out very soon. But the time frame is not mentioned.
Eventhough the company said that the Dark Theme is coming soon for Android soon, a Reddit user has received the feature, so we can expect the Dark Theme roll out for Android in the coming weeks.
