How Missiles work??? Big Tech Bang Explains

     Hello all!!! Today we are gonna see how missiles work? I will be giving an overview of the working.

     The missiles have these following important parts;
  • Propulsion System
  • Control and Guidance
  • Control Surfaces
  • Warhead
Propulsion System

     The propulsion system works according to the need of the missile. It decides the speed, path and the strike point. It may be jet engine or rocket. The missile will be pushed up and achieves speed by propulsion system.

Control and Guidance

     The control system controls the trajectory path of the missiles. Ot may have internal controllers to control the path. Some missiles are given command and controlled from external source.

     The control and guidance system will control the wings and fins to control the trajectory path. This mechanism is same as seen in aeroplanes.

Control Surfaces

     The control surfaces are fins and wings. It is just like fins of fish and wings of birds. These fins and wings are used to change the trajectory path. The difference in pressure around the fins and wings will decide the direction of the missile.

Warhead

     Warhead is the part which has the payload. It is the explosive part. If warhead needs to explode near the target then the warhead will be designed small. This is because less explosion is required. If some penetrations are required then the warhead will be designed to be large.

Fuel

     Fuel used in missiles will be solid fuel or liquid fuel. Some missiles are hybrid they use both the technology.
